Age Group Coach of The Year
Coach Rod Hansen is the recipient of the 2023 American Swimming Coaches Association and Fitter & Faster Age Group Coach of the Year Award!
Rod is the Associate Head Age Group Coach at Irvine Novaquatics, in Irvine, California. Coach Hansen’s philosophy centers around creating a fun environment where every swimmer enjoys their time at practice and competitions, while learning how to be focused and inquisitive as an athlete.
Over the past thirty years he has coached national age group record holders, junior and national championship finalists, as well as Olympic Trial qualifiers.
In this episode of Coaches Corner, Rod and Mike discuss some of the concepts that have led to tremendous success in his program over the last three decades, and why he’s so excited about the future of our sport.
