A few months ago we announced the top 10 finalists and today the wait is over! We are thrilled to announce that Rod Hanson of Irvine Novaquatics (CA) has been awarded the 2024 ASCA/Fitter & Faster Age Group Coach of the Year! Rod is now the first 3-time winner in the award’s history!

We were honored to be able to recognize Rod at the annual ASCA World Clinic in Orlando this past Thursday evening. Rod Hanson’s exceptional dedication to developing young swimmers and his innovative coaching techniques have earned him this prestigious honor. His ability to consistently guide his athletes to peak performance, as demonstrated during the 2023 Long Course and 2023-24 Short Course seasons, has set him apart as a leader in the swimming community. His swimmers’ outstanding results, measured by USA Swimming Power Points, reflect both his commitment to excellence and his talent for fostering growth and success among young athletes.

This award not only highlights Rod Hanson’s success in producing top athletes but also recognizes his broader impact on the swim community. His passion for athlete development and his ability to inspire swimmers of all levels have made him an influential figure in the sport.
