Give your swimmer the opportunity to learn technqiue for faster racing! 13-time Paralympic gold medalist Jessica Long has to rely on her technique in order to be able to swim fast and keep up with elite swimmers who have their legs. Learn from her as well as National Champion Austin Surhoff and think differently about the way that you swim butterfly and freestyle!
Jessica and Austin will be leading three sessions on February 16 & 17 designed for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

CURRICULUM:
Faster Freestyle and Butterfly
This clinic is designed to be a fun, inspirational, and educational experience for swimmers to learn the details of fast techique while they build on their love for swimming! This clinic covers Jessica Long's two favorite and fastest strokes: Butterfly and Freestyle!
BUTTERFLY: Butterfly does NOT have to be the hardest stroke. Jessica Long and Austin Surhoff know the key components to swimming an efficient butterfly stroke and now they want's to share their knowledge with your swimmer! Jessica has had to really focus and refine her technique since she doesn't have her lower legs. Jessica will teach her favorite drills and exercises to help each participant find an efficient butterfly pull, powerful kicks, and a well timed breath.
Freestyle: Freestyle is the most complex stroke. The techique in freestyle requires patience, balance, and timing in order to maximize the effectiveness of each pull and kick. Learn how to use your rotation for power and time your breath for a faster stroke. Grip the water with your whole arm and throw water behind you. Learn from the most successful and FAST Paralympian of all time and a National Champion! You won't believe how much you benefit from thinking about swimming in a new and creative way.
ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask Jessica Long and Austin Surhoff questions during a Q&A session. Gain insight into their training regimen, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics. Get to know them and relate to their journey as inspiration for yourself.
WATCH THE CLINICIAN: Observe Jessica and Austin swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful, efficient and fast swimming. Visual learners will greatly benefit from not only seeing drills and exercises done correctly, but also from seeing them live and in person!
PRACTICE DRILLS: Learn the same drills that Jessica and Austin practice every day as well as what they think about when they swim. Then get the chance to practice them and get feedback!
