Olympic gold and silver medalist Nick Thoman is a master of the underwater dolphin kicks. He rockets through his turns and explodes away from the wall into lighting fast underwater dolphin kicks. This clinic is designed to be a fun and dynamic learning experience for swimmers ages 11 & under to help them RACE FASTER!
- APPROACH: The more speed you approach the wall with, the more energy you'll create to leave the wall with speed! Learn the importance of building your tempo into the wall!
- ROTATION: Getting your feet to the wall quickly is paramount for a fast turn! Practice a fast and tight rotation by learning to use your head, core and by driving your heels to the wall.
- PUSHOFF: During a freestyle push off, it is faster to leave the wall on your back rather than spinning onto your side during the rotation. Use your core and your feet as a rudder to help you rotate onto your side and stomach into the breakout.
- APPROACH: Know how to anticipate the turn by understanding how and when to adjust your stroke so you touch at the end of a full stroke cycle rather than too short or long.
- ROTATION: Getting from fingertips to feet touching the wall is simply half of a backwards somersault! Learn how to create that rotation using your head, core and knee drive.
- PUSHOFF: No need to spin on the wall in an effor to leave on your stomach. Watch and learn as our world class clinicians teach you to leave on your side, and rotate onto your stomach after your feet leave the wall - it's faster..we promise!
