Past Clinic

Introduction

At this high performance swim clinic, your swimmer will learn the techniques that they NEED to know to REDUCE DRAG and swim with a lot more efficiency.

The best swimmers in the world aren't just strong, they also know how to "SLAY THE DRAGon"! Slaying the DRAGon are the techniques required to swim through the water without resistance so that each stroke, start, and turn takes them further faster! Sign up to learn these essential skills from National Champion Tom Luchsinger!

Suggested Participants

Tom will be leading two sessions designed for competitive swimmers with a minimum of one year of age group racing through Junior and Senior National Championship Qualifiers.

Curriculum

Feel for the Water and Slay the DRAGon!

When you watch elite level swimmers, it often looks like they have a super power of being able to hold onto the water with their arms and cut through the water with little resistance. Here's the good news: elite swimmer's aren't born with those abilities. It's something that take practice, patience, and skill to acheive. Tom will teach every participant how to achieve maximum efficiency through the use of an increased feel for the water and reduced drag.

  • Feel for the Water: Moving your arms through the water perfectly won't get you anywhere if you don't have a feel for the water. You have to be able to connect to the water to grab it and throw it behind you. Tom knows this feeling and how to cultivate it for faster strokes. Learn what it feels like to have a deeper understanding of the way you can achieve maximum power!
  • Slay the DRAGon: Reducing drag is imperative if you want to move through the water quickly and efficiently. Finding a streamlined body position will help you reduce the water resistance so that you go faster! At this clinic, National Champion Tom Luchsinger will teach participants how to maximize their speed by becoming more hydrodynamic in every area of swimming!
