Fitter and Faster is proud to present this Coaches Clinic in Omaha, NE focused on the Art of Sprinting!
This clinic will be led by two-time Olympic swimmer and three-time Olympic coach Brett Hawke! After his successful swimming career, Brett transitioned his knowledge of swimming, specifically to the coaching world. He has coached Olympic and World Championship gold medalists, world record holders, and NCAA Champions. Many swimming insiders consider Hawke to be the top sprint coach in the world. Most recently, his swimmer Bruno Fratus won the silver medal in the 50 freestyle at the 2019 World Championships in South Korea.
Coach Hawke is now cultivating the next generation of swimmers and coaches as Fitter and Faster’s Development Director of Swim Camps and Clinics. Scroll down for more details on the clinic.

THE ART OF SPRINTING
Coach Brett Hawke’s experience as an Olympic sprinter himself brings a unique perspective as an elite coach now. Sprinting is all about “controlled aggression” and staying relaxed and powerful in the water. Sprinting differs dramatically from mid distance and distance both in technique, mindset, and strategy. It is important to examine these differences. In this session, Coach Hawke will share his thoughts and philosophies on sprint training and racing with all participants.
- SPEED AND POWER SWIMMING: Explore the basis for fast swimming in any stroke! Coach Brett Hawke will share his favorite ways to develop both speed and power.
- TRAINING CYCLES: Learn how Coach Hawke customizes training plans for his swimmers based on specific four week training blocks. Each training block has a different focus, intensity, and goals with workouts designed to fit those needs.
- SPRINTING TOPICS: In a general discussion, Coach Hawke will touch on how sprinters balance risk and reward in their swimming, the importance of belief, and how SAID Principle specifically applies to sprint swimming!
- QUESTION AND ANSWER: Come prepared with questions for Coach Hawke specifically related to sprinting or swimming and coaching in general.
