Introduction

Learning to swim with efficiency and the least amount of resistance possible is something that ALL SERIOUS swimmers need to master. This is the only way to build maximum speed and not die in a race.

Now, imagine the challenges that a double amputee has to face to swim efficiently. FOURTEEN-TIME Paralympic Gold Medalist and ESPY award winner - Jessica Long is teaching "able bodied" swimmers how they can improve their swimming.  YOU DO NOT WANT your swimmer missing this clinic!

Suggested Participants

Jessica will be in the water leading two sessions designed for swimmers of all ages and abilities:

Curriculum

Slay the DRAGon

This swim clinic covers a key area of elite level performance: reducing drag and increasing your feel for the water! Paralympian Jessica Long has had to figure out ways to conserve energy while still racing fast against able-bodied Olympians even though she is a double below the knee amputee. Learn how to swim faster with LESS effort!

  • Slay the DRAGon: Reducing drag is imperative if you want to move through the water quickly and efficiently. Finding a streamlined body position will help you reduce the water resistance so that you go faster! At this clinic, 13-time Paralympic gold medalist Jessica Long will teach participants how to maximize their speed by becoming more hydrodynamic! Slay the DRAGon in your: Starts, Streamlines, Turn Push-Offs, AND in your Strokes!
  • Feel for the Water: Moving your arms through the water perfectly won't get you anywhere if you don't have a feel for the water. You have to be able to connect to the water to grab it and throw it behind you. Jessica Long relies entirely on her arms to move her forward at amazing speeds. Learn how to think differently about the way you swim at this unique FFT Swim Clinic!
