Kaique Alves brings a patient and understanding approach to teaching, with a focus on making every swimmer’s technique both efficient and effective. A native of Brazil, Kaique’s success in the pool opened the door for him to move to the United States, pursue his education at the University of Alabama, and become part of a new family.
He credits his longtime coach, Andrew Hodgson, as a major inspiration for his passion for teaching and mentoring young athletes. Kaique believes that fast swimming isn’t only about time—it’s about attention to the small but crucial details, including stroke technique, turns, and underwaters. His philosophy centers on efficiency in the water as the foundation for speed and long-term success.
Through swimming, Kaique has had the opportunity to travel the world and gain valuable lessons in discipline, time management, and resilience. He is deeply committed to passing this knowledge on to the next generation of swimmers, helping them not only improve in the pool but also grow as individuals.
As a final piece of advice, Kaique reminds swimmers: “Confidence doesn’t come from feeling ready. It comes from knowing you’ve done the work.”
