Plan de estudios
Swimming fast demands more than effort — it requires refined technique, efficiency, power, and an athlete willing to work. At this camp, swimmers will elevate their Backstroke, Butterfly, Starts, Sprint Speed, Tempo, Pacing, and Breathing, building the technical precision that turns speed into performance. Now is the time to establish the habits that allow swimmers to attack their shorter races with confidence, control, and race-ready mechanics — laying the foundation for long-term success in the pool.
- FAST BACKSTROKE & BUTTERFLY TECHNIQUE: In this session, your swimmer will refine their bodyline, rotation, kick, and pull for both backstroke and butterfly. We will focus on reducing resistance, establishing powerful rhythm and timing, and connecting the arms and legs into one seamless, propulsive cycle. After building a strong technical foundation, we’ll help each swimmer fine-tune their unique stroke style for maximum speed and efficiency. No matter your swimmer’s level, this session will strengthen their technique and translate into faster, more controlled racing.
- Body Position: Backstroke bodyline must eliminate unnecessary movement — even slight bobbing or over-rotation creates drag. Swimmers will maintain a long, aligned posture while engaging their core for stability and connection. Butterfly requires controlled, unified motion to avoid wasted vertical lift. We’ll keep the head, hips, and spine connected in a smooth, forward-driving rhythm so every kick and pull adds speed, not resistance.
- Kick: Backstroke kicking should be narrow, steady, and continuous — creating propulsion while supporting rotation and bodyline. Swimmers will build ankle flexibility and consistent drive to maintain speed with minimal drag. Butterfly kicking powers the stroke’s rhythm. We’ll emphasize a strong, well-timed dolphin kick from the hips so each kick reinforces the pull and drives efficient forward momentum.
- Pull: Backstroke requires a strong catch and a full pull path, engaging the entire arm and large back muscles to generate continuous power. We’ll focus on maximizing that complete pull while maintaining rhythm and alignment. In butterfly, swimmers must establish an early catch and press straight back, finishing the stroke cleanly before recovering forward. We’ll connect pull timing to the kick so arms and legs work together for maximum propulsion and efficiency.
- Momentum: Backstroke has no glide — the arms are always moving. Swimmers will develop a continuous, efficient stroke that maximizes distance per stroke while maintaining tempo. In butterfly, timing drives speed. We’ll connect the pull, kick, and breath into one unified, rhythmic cycle that sustains power and forward momentum.
- FAST STARTS & RACING SKILLS: This session is designed to sharpen the details that decide races. Swimmers will develop explosive starts, sprint speed, precise tempo, smart pacing, and controlled breathing — learning how to apply power with purpose from the first movement to the final touch.
- Block Starts: To ensure an explosive start, a swimmer needs to set themselves up properly on the block. The elite clinicians will work with participants on the optimal positioning of your swimmer’s entire body to allow for a quick reaction time and optimal speed.
- Water Entry: A smooth, shallow entry into the water is key to carrying momentum from the blocks into the race. This session emphasizes improving water entry, a crucial skill for maximizing speed and efficiency right from the start.
- Sprinting: On Day 1, your swimmer worked on the elements of faster swimming. Today, we are going to apply those skills to your swimmer's unique stroke tempo, pacing & breathing while swimming “all out” on top of the water with efficiency and power.
- Sprinting Application: Swimmers at this session will work on applying their newly developed skills during racing scenarios. As with all the other segments of this camp, the clinicians will provide feedback for your swimmer to take home and apply at upcoming practices and meets.
