My Son Really Enjoyed This Clinic!

June 8th, 2021

My swimmer felt he learned how to position and perform his starts a lot better and his underwater dolphin kicks. The drills used to help him were extremely helpful. The back leg up drill helped him realize he wasn’t fully using his arms to fly off the blocks! Great job Elvis!! The 2nd day clinic helped my son with his turns and finishes. Overall, my son really enjoyed this clinic.

Best Investment for our Daughter’s Swimming

April 28th, 2021

These swim clinics are one of the best investments we have made in our daughter’s swimming. Several friends are amazed that our daughter is receiving advice and coaching from former Olympians.

Unique Perspectives

April 28th, 2021

Cooper really loved learning from each of the coaches. He loved Brett Hawke’s accent, and once he heard that Jack Roach knew Michael Phelps he was hanging on every word. The diversity of coaches that Fitter and Faster provides is terrific. They each have a unique perspective and really seem to care about helping each swimmer improve.

Elite Athletes Share Their Time, Experiences, and Talents

April 28th, 2021

My son is excited to attend his next practice to try out some of the new things he learned at the freestyle clinic this weekend. It’s really remarkable that so many elite swimmers are willing to share their time, experiences, and talents to teach young swimmers

“Speaking Kid” Keeping Swimmers Engaged

April 28th, 2021

I was skeptical – not of the clinicians talents, but skeptical as they are so young and either just out of college or about to be. I wondered how they would hold the attention of swimmers similar in age (and possibly younger) than my son. Santi and Jewels were amazing. They “spoke kid” extremely well. They kept them engaged and I honestly don’t think there was one kid in the water that didn’t feel like their success was important. They were sure to spend time observing and offering feedback to each swimmer. Both have gifts that go well beyond their athleticism and I hope they will look to encourage younger swimmers and grow this sport far beyond their years of competition. -Montgomery, AL

Holding the Attention of Younger Swimmers

April 25th, 2021

Going into this clinic, I wondered how such young clinicians would hold the attention of younger swimmers for the duration of the session and communicate on a level they would understand. I was blown away with how well Santi and Jewels presented the information, kept the swimmers engaged, made sure to observe and interact with each individual swimmer and I honestly feel that my 10-year-old will continue to improve upon what he learned over this weekend. We will definitely look forward to participating in additional clinics and hope the options available to us in/around Alabama continues to grow. Thanks!

First Junior Olympics time!

March 6th, 2021

I wish there was a way for Coach Gary Hall Jr to know what a difference he has made in our son’s life. Our son, Adam, has had Olympic dreams since he was 6 years old and meeting one of his most admired swimmers was a life changing experience for him. One week after his F&F camp at Irvine with Coach GHJr, Adam had his first Junior Olympics time cuts – in fact 3 JO cuts in all 3 races he competed in at Coronado Island in San Diego. Adam did the morning sessions on Saturday and Sunday at Irvine and even after 3 years of swimming with so many different teachers and coaches I have never seen him gushing with so much excitement and motivation after his time with Coach Gary Hall Jr. I already had so much admiration for GHJr because of his campaigns with Diabetes, which so many of my own family members have suffered terrible complications from in the forms of diabetic retinopathy and digit/limp amputations, that have destroyed so many people’s lives and dreams. So to have an opportunity to introduce my son Adam to a person that has accomplished so many good things in life has just been wonderful. I also want to thank F&F for their inclusiveness and willingness to make exceptions for individual abilities. This camp was meant to be a 9th birthday present for our son Adam back in December of 2020. We appreciate F&F allowing Adam to enroll in a camp designed for 10-12 yo kids, and giving hi the chance to prove himself even though he was younger. My son has always been a very dedicated and serious swimmer and he hopes he was able to contribute something to the weekend for the benefit of others.

My swimmer really connected with the pre race confidence building and starting block poses that GHJr led the group through. Overall, my swimmer got a huge boost of motivation and confidence and goal setting. My son says everyday that Gary Hall Jr told him ‘No Pain No Gain’. We are eagerly looking forward to another opportunity to work with Coach Gary Hall Jr.
We appreciate F&F partnering with this amazing person.

Thank you!

March 2nd, 2021

Thank you! The 200 isn’t a sprint and it’s not a distance event and I think one of the more challenging events for the “tween” age group to learn. It’s nice to have a clinic dedicated to this distance providing tips and techniques to make the 200 not so intimidating. Thank you!
