BUTTERFLY: You have the rhythm and timing that propel you down the pool in this fluid and powerful stroke, now learn to take advantage of your core and hip drive, coordinated with a high catch, to catapult you past your competitors.
BACKSTROKE: You understand the core components of backstroke, now begin to master the subtle skills that will help you compete at the next level. Use your core to create rotation as well as a stable and balanced stroke, build a powerful pull with a strategic use of stroke rate, and use your kick as a dominant propulsive force.
  • BODY POSITION: Learn why it is so important to ride high on the water with the hips and feet in line with the spine
  • CORE DRIVEN ROTATION: Probably the most over-rotated stroke, learn how to use your core for a more forward rotation
  • PULL: Accelerating your hand into the entry and getting into a clean catch position will help you set up a pull that will propel you forward.
RACE PREPARATION AND TRAINING READINESS: During this exceptional clinic you are extremely fortunate to get inside the mind of one of most elite athletes in the world to hear how they prepare immediately prior to, on race day, as well as the months and years preceding their championship meets.
  • GOAL SETTING: One of the most common, and simplest, strategies individuals in any challenging situation use is learning how to set and go after their goals. There are lots of steps to successful goal setting but the key is OWNING your goal! Your clinician will help you set up the simple steps of goal setting.
  • RACE STRATEGY: Knowing how to execute a proper race plan even when the stakes are high is a practiced skill. Swimmers will learn how to manage their race plans even under stress.
  • BEHIND THE BLOCKS: Each individual athlete has a different demeanor behind the blocks; it's the great ones that control their emotions and actions that tend to race the best. Hear strategies on how Tyler Clary remains focused on his race in the ready room and at the blocks. From music to rituals, breathing techniques to stretching...get ideas on what might work for you!
