Past Clinic

BUTTERFLY: As a participant of this High Performance session you already have the rhythm and timing that propel you down the pool in this fluid and powerful stroke, now learn to take advantage of your core and hip drive, coordinated with a high catch, to catapult you past your competitors.

  • UNDULATION:  Learn how to optimize your hips for a faster stroke rhythm! Coordinate the power of the pull and hip drive to lunge forward past your hands.
  • KICKING:  There should be some bend in your knees during the kick! Learn how to set up the knees but still crack your kick like a whip by initiating your kick from your core! Enhance your race strategy by learning to build your legs throughout your race distance.
  • BREATHING:  Keeping your breath low and forward will allow you to keep your chest parallel to the surface of the water thus maintaining forward progression.

TURNS AND BREAKOUTS:  Why is short course faster than long course? The walls!!! In this high performance clinic you will learn the intricacies of how to get in and out of the flags faster than ever. It may require more toughness and focus but it will pay off!

  • APPROACH:  The more speed you approach the wall with, the more energy you'll create to leave the wall with speed! Learn the importance of building your speed into the wall!
  • FOOT/HAND PLACEMENT:  You are probably consistent at touching with two hands simultaneously but, do you know the feet should plant shoulder width apart and at a 45 degree angle for the best push off? Our elite athletes will show you why.
  •  BREAKOUTS: Elite swimmers move at the fastest speed of their race at the breakout. Learn how to improve streamline, breath control and power for a more advantageous breakout!

WATCH THE OLYMPIANS: Observe Tarwater and Perdue swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful and efficient strokes.

GET UP AND RACE: Race some of the best swimmers in the world and watch their near-flawless technique - achieved by practicing the same drills they will teach you.

HEAR FROM DAVIS AND LAUREN

  • ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask the clinicians questions during a Q&A session:  gain insight into their training regimen, diet, nutrition and recovery tactics.
  • PERFORMANCE MINDSET: Get inside the minds of two of the best swimmers in the world.  Tarwater and Perdue will dissect their stroke and explain what they think about when they swim in practices and races.

Inquisitive, Educated Swimmers are Faster Swimmers! Sign up before tickets sell out!
