SUGGESTED PARTICIPANTS: This clinic session is recommended for swimmers ages 8 and under.

This is your chance to work with Olympian Cammile Adams on the key components to a POWERFUL UNDERWATER DOLPHIN KICK, FAST STARTS AND TURNS! This clinic is specifically designed for swimmers ages 8 & under to be a fun and interactive learning experience! 

FLAT STARTS: Set the tone for a great race with a powerful, streamlined and fast start. Olympian Cammile Adams will teach you some of her favorite strategies on how to execute this explosive and athletic movement.
  • FOOT PLACEMENT: Everyone's foot placement might be a bit different but Cammile will teach you how to figure out what is the correct foot placement for you to gain both stability on the block and explosive power when leaving the block.
  • REACTION TIME: Practice drills for a faster reaction time off the blocks.
  • BODY LINE/ENTRY: Learn to squeeze the ears tightly and elongate the body for the most optimal position for ultimate acceleration off the start. 
FLIP TURNS: Numerous coaches talk to their athletes about the walls being "Free Speed"! At the turn, you get the opportunity to recreate momentum off of each wall; learn how to take advantage of that opportunity.
  • APPROACH: The more speed you approach the wall with, the more energy you'll create to leave the wall with speed! Learn the importance of building your tempo into the wall!
  • ROTATION: Getting your feet to the wall quickly is IMPORTANT for a fast turn! Practice a fast and tight rotation by learning to use your head, core and by driving your heels to the wall.
  • FOOT PLANT: Plant your feet, shoulder width apart, with toes pointing more toward the surface than toward the bottom of the pool to initiate a more powerful push off.
  • PUSHOFF: No need to spin on the wall in an effor to leave on your stomach. Watch and learn as Cammile Adams teaches you to leave on your side, and rotate onto your stomach after your feet leave the wall - it's faster...we promise!
UNDERWATER DOLPHIN KICKING: Did you know that most swimmers under the age of 12 do not streamline properly or use a powerful dolphin kick? Did you know that this is the fastest part of your race?? Get an edge over your competition by using this SECRET WEAPON!
  • BODY POSITION: The simplest way to maintain your speed is a TIGHT STREAMLINE! Cammile will reinforce to you why elite swimmers are NEVER lazy when it comes to streamlining off the wall.
  • CORE DRIVEN: ATTENTION YOUNG SWIMMERS - Kicking does not come from your knees — it comes from your CORE! Cammile will instruct you on how to engage your kick from your torso, utilizing your chest press and hip drive to create the dolphin kick motion. This will help you take advantage of your fast streamline!
  • KICK COUNT: You can’t just do one dolphin kick off the wall if you want to demolish your competition! Take advantage of every single kick during practice and racing!
WATCH THE CLINICIAN: Before you swim, observe Cammile swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills that you will be learning.
