Curriculum

Feel for the Water and Drag Reduction

When you watch elite level swimmers, it often looks like they have a super power of being able to hold onto the water with their arms and cut through the water with little resistance. Here's the good news: elite swimmer's aren't born with those abilities. It's something that take practice, patience, and skill to achieve.

  • Feel for the Water: Moving your arms through the water perfectly won't get you anywhere if you don't have a feel for the water. You have to be able to connect to the water to grab it and throw it behind you. Todd knows how to teach swimmers the feeling of how to cultivate it for faster strokes. Learn what it feels like to have a deeper understanding of the way you can achieve maximum power!

Drag Reduction

Reducing drag is imperative if you want to move through the water quickly and efficiently. Finding a streamlined body position will help you reduce the water resistance so that you go faster! At this clinic, Olympic Coach Todd Schmitz will teach participants how to maximize their speed by becoming more hydrodynamic! Reduce Drag in your:

  • Starts
  • Streamlines
  • Turn Push-Offs
  • AND in your Strokes!

ASK QUESTIONS

Swimmers and parents are invited to ask Todd questions during a Q&A session. Gain insight into his training philosophies, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics for his swimmers. Get to know him and relate to his journey as inspiration for yourself.

PRACTICE DRILLS

Learn the same drills that Todd teaches his swimmers to achieve fast and efficient techniques. Then get the chance to practice and get feedback from an Olympic coach!

PUT YOUR SKILLS TO THE TEST

Practice what you've learned by taking your stroke to your top speed with a set from one of the best coaches in the world! Hold on to your form while having the opportunity to challenge yourself.
