EXPERIENCE

Douglas Lennox, a Princeton University graduate, distinguished himself as a five-time All-American and Captain of the swim team. Doug possesses an unparalleled depth of knowledge for helping swimmers find the perfect college fit. With extensive coaching experience at both NCAA DI and DIII levels, and a successful track record guiding club athletes through their college transitions, Doug offers invaluable expertise in navigating the recruiting process from multiple angles. His roles as an Education Specialist at American College Connection and a college counselor at Evolved Evolution Company have further equipped him to support athletes directly in their college search. Doug’s insights into admissions, financial aid, and parental involvement also make him an invaluable resource for parents. As the former Chief Program Officer of the College Swim Coaches Association of America, Doug brings comprehensive knowledge of collegiate swimming opportunities to anyone interested in pursuing swimming at the college level.

Doug firmly believes that the principles of long-term development and delayed gratification, instilled through swimming, are applicable beyond the pool. At Fitter & Faster clinics, he emphasizes that steady, incremental progress paves the way to achievement.

Doug says, “I’ve learned the importance of committing to gradual improvement over time. In my adult life, I strive for one percent solutions—small changes that yield significant results in the long run. I don’t expect immediate mastery in anything I pursue, but I firmly believe in my ability to achieve excellence through persistence, learning, and embracing challenges.” He shares a fitting quote with clinic participants that encapsulates his approach: “get better at getting better.”

An accomplished international swimmer, Doug represented Puerto Rico at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. As a coach, he gained valuable experience as an assistant at New York University, Kenyon College, and Princeton University, as well as at renowned clubs like Asphalt Green and Chelsea Piers. Currently, he serves as the Athletics Advancement Director at Lewis & Clark College. Lennox has been chosen to lead the classroom portion of select College Preparation Swim Camps, bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience to aspiring swimmers.
