I could SEE immediate improvement in both the fly and the back, which was kind of crazy. During the fly drills it was after the analytical breakdown of the chest and hips rather than arms and legs being the driver of the forward movement that clearly made something click for Carter. During the backstroke it was the discussion of the angle and reach of the arm (using the “good water” haha) that really seemed to make a difference.

Even more than the concrete stroke improvement though was the advice from all three coaches about the mental and emotional aspect of swim and competition that I think will stick with Carter the most. At this age there is so much emotional volatility, so hearing three extremely credible experts talk about having stretches where things aren’t obviously improving and sticking with it anyway was a HUGE boost for my easily discouraged kid.
