CURRICULUM:

This clinic is designed to be a fun, inspirational, and educational experience for swimmers to learn the details of fast techique while they build on their love for swimming! An effective way for fast swimmers to get even FASTER is to practice their turns, underwater dolphin kicking and breakouts! Olympian Claire Donahue will teach you the KEY components to enhance their overall race performance!

Open Turns: The open turn is done incorrectly very often. Extra movements are added in that slow swimmers down. Keep it simple by spinning backwards and keeping your elbows in close. If you listen closely to 100 butterfly Olympian, Claire Donahue, she will show you how she is one of the fastest swimmers in the country through the turn.

Underwater Dolphin Kicking: Did you know that most swimmers do not streamline properly or know how to do a proper dolphin kick? When you watch the Olympics, you see Olympians like Claire blast past the competition with their underwaters.

Breakouts: Carrying the speed from your turn into the first stroke cycle is crucial for maintaining momentum. Learn the key components of a breakout that make you more streamlined, explosive, and confident during a race! The transition from streamline to stroke bust be smooth, efficient, and powerful. Learn to execute this skill correctly.

ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask the elite clinician questions during a Q&A session. Gain insight into their training regimen, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics. Get to know her and relate to her journey as inspiration for yourself.

WATCH THE CLINICIAN: Observe the elite clinician swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful, efficient and fast swimming. Visual learners will greatly benefit from not only seeing drills done correctly, but also from seeing them live and in person!

PRACTICE DRILLS: Learn the same drills that Olivia practices every day as well as what she thinks about when she swims. Then get the chance to practice them and get feedback!
