BREASTSTROKE: More than any other stroke, breaststroke is the most varied. Out of the eight finalists at the Olympic Games you might see eight different styles of strokes! Without fail, your timing and ability to eliminate resistance are both hallmarks of an efficient and powerful breaststroker. You have the foundation, now learn from the experts how to utilize your core and hip drive to create a fluid and more forward driving stroke.
- TURNS: Achieve the fastest turn possible by going into the wall with a perfectly timed full stroke and glide! Burckle and Sogar will teach participants how to set their turn up a few strokes away from the wall.
- KICKING: How wide is too wide? How narrow is too narrow? It's fun to experiment and Clark and Laura will teach you how to begin to gauge what is the best kick for you based off your speed and distance per kick.
- RHYTHM: Heel speed in the recovery of the kick plays a crucial role in breaststroke timing; learn drills that will help you quickly get your feet into position to press into a strong breaststroke kick.
- BREATHING: Keeping eyes down or peeking forward with a slight head tilt are two styles that distinguish even the most elite breaststrokers; experiment with confidence what works best for you.
- BODY UNDULATION: Pressing forward with the chest and raising the hips higher causes momentum and speed. Learn how to take full advantage of this dolphin-like movement for more forward power.
WATCH THE CLINICIANS: Observe Burckle and Sogar swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful and efficient strokes.
