High Performance Freestyle FRENZY – Iowa City, IA

Freestyle is the most technical stroke and you swim it more than any other... but are you swimming it correctly?! Learn the specifics of the key components of swimming a fast and efficient freestyle stroke from two-time Olympian Chloe Sutton! 

Chloe will be leading two sessions for swimmers of all ages and abilities (including masters swimmers and triathletes).

11 & Younger Curriculum:
Sprint Freestyle Technique

This clinic is designed to help swimmers age 11 or younger unlock their freestyle abilities so that they can race faster! Chloe Sutton is an expert on teaching the essential components to a fast and efficient freestyle stroke. 

Sprint Freestyle Technique: You won't believe how much you'll learn from one of the best swimmers and coaches in the world! The technqiue in your sprint freestyle stroke is so important to being able to get the maximum speed and power out of every pull and kick. Your swimmer will learn:

  • Technique for an effective kick

  • How to acheive a balanced and powerful rotation

  • A long, strong, and fast arm pull

  • A quick and low breath

  • How to accelerate with each stroke for maximum speed!

Introduction to Open Water Strategy: Learn the sighting, drafting, and strategy technqiues that go into racing in the open water. This sport can be a fun and refreshing opportunity for swimmers of all ages to have a change of scenery and an opportunity to be successful.


12 & Older Curriculum: 
Distance Freestyle Technique and Open Water Racing

Distance swimming isn't always about who is the best swimmer (even though that helps). Most of the time it's about who can outsmart their opponent. Learn the strategy of the best distance freestylers as well as open water swimmers in the world by working with Olympic pool AND open water swimmer Chloe Sutton and practice the skills, drills, and exercises that she uses in the pool that her get her hand on the finishing pad FIRST in the open water. 

  • Freestyle Technique: In distance racing, your freestyle stroke must maximize every ounce of efficiency possible. Long, relaxed, and powerful strokes are very important to being able to finish a long distance race. Learn how to engage your core so that you can swim fast while conserving energy! Work on your technqiues for your freestyle so that you can swim long and fast just like Chloe Sutton. 

  • Introduction to Open Water Strategy: Learn the sighting, drafting, and strategy technqiues that go into racing in the open water. This sport can be a fun and refreshing opportunity for swimmers of all ages to have a change of scenery and an opportunity to be successful.


ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask Chloe Sutton questions during a Q&A session. Gain insight into her training regimen, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics.

WATCH THE CLINICIAN: Observe Chloe Sutton swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful, efficient and fast swimming.

COACHES PROGRAM: 

There are spots available in the hands-on coaches program. If you are interested in meeting, learning from, and working alongside our elite clinician during the clinic, please click the register button for the coaches program.

Coaches will have the opportunity to meet with Chloe Sutton to pick their brain about what they know as well as be on deck during the clinic interacting with them. This opportunity doesn't come along very often. This is your chance to ask questions, learn new drills and technqiues, and find out about open water training strategies.
