As an age group swimmer, now is the time to work on establishing a strong foundation of technique! Chloe Sutton is a two-time Olympic swimmer with decades of swimming and teaching experience. She will teach you the skills, drills, and exercises to improve your form and maximize on your strength. 

STARTS: Set the tone for a great race with a powerful, streamlined, and fast start. There are countless intricacies to performing a great start and you only get better with practice. Chloe Sutton will teach you some of their favorite strategies on how to execute this explosive and athletic movement.

  • Use your arms: Knowing how to pull with your arms for extra power on the start is often a missed opportuntiy. Chloe uses drills and muscle activation to help swimmers know exactly where to place your hands so that you can pull with your arms on the start.
  • Learn how to use the wedge: Everyone's foot placement might be a bit different but Chloe will teach you how to figure out what is best for you to gain both stability on the block and explosive power when leaving the block. Chloe will instruct you on how to confidently adjust the wedge and teach you where to place it for your individual strengths. Use it to your advantage!
  • Tight bodyline: How you enter the water is just as important as how explosive you are off the blocks - all the power you created can be for naught if you don't carry that speed forward. Learn to squeeze the ears tightly and elongate the body for the most optimal position for ultimate acceleration off the start. Learn to set your arms, legs and core to enter the water efficiently. 

UNDERWATER DOLPHIN KICKING: Often called the 5th stroke, your underwater dolphin kicks are an important part of your race. Learn how to use your core and whip a dolphin kick through your body with incredible power. This is where races will be won and lost. Breakout ahead of the pack by working on this skill. 

  • Tight streamlines: The simplest way to maintain your speed is a TIGHT STREAMLINE from fingertips to toes! Our world-class athlete will reinforce to you why they NEVER take streamlining for granted. Every fast swimmer must look like a rocket when they push off the wall!
  • Kick from your core: The dolphin kick is a full body movement that takes a lot of core strength. Too many swimmers kick from their knees down. Our clinicians will teach you how to unlock the power of a full body undulation to create incredible power in your underwater dolphin kicks

FREESTYLE: We swim freestyle more than any other stroke in training. At this event, one of America's fastest and most efficient freestylers will teach you the components to build a better freestyle. Swimming freestyle correctly will have you dropping time, prevent injury, and make practice more fun! 

  • Swim Downhill: Instead of relying on your kick to keep your hips high, learn skills and drills elite swimmers rely on to keep a horizontal body position throughout a race. This will give you the sensation of swimming downhill. 
  • Utilize a high elbow catch: How early can you grab water to propel yourself forward? The high elbow catch or early vertical forearm is the most important part of the arm pull. Work on this skill and you'll be amazed at how fast you go! 
  • Better breathing: Maintaining a low and quick breath directly impacts your ability to hold a great bodyline, maintain a balanced stroke, and sustain speed. Listen carefully as Chloe shares the secrets of how to sneak in your breath.
ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask Chloe questions during a Q&A session. Gain insight into their training regimen, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics.

WATCH THE CLINICIAN: Observe Chloe swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful, efficient, and fast swimming.
