SUGGESTED PARTICIPANTS: This clinic session is recommended for swimmers ages 11-12.

NOW is the time to work on perfecting your technique! Establish a base of proper freestyle technique to prevent injury and increase speed. Explode through your turns into a tight streamline and powerful dolphin kick. Olympic medalist Connor Jaeger will not only teach each swimmer the keys to better technique and faster swimming, but he will also inspire you to want to reach for greatness in and out of the pool! 

FREESTYLE: We swim freestyle more than any other stroke in training. Instead of tuning out on technique, learn how Connor Jaeger focuses on eaach aspect of a fast freestyle. Use him to inspire you to make each stroke you take count. 

  • Ride High in the Water: Instead of relying on your kick to keep your hips high, learn skills and drills elite swimmers rely on to keep a horizontal body position throughout a race.
  • Strong and Steady Kick: Embrace the six beat kick! This strong, steady kick just at the surface will become the engine that drives you forward.
  • Powerful Pull: Utilize an early vertical forearm to put pressure backwards on the water immediately upon entry to help propel you forward.

FLIP TURNS: Numerous coaches talk to their athletes about the walls being "Free Speed"! At the turn, you get the opportunity to create momentum off of each wall. Learn how to take advantage of that opportunity!

  • Accelerate into the Wall: The more speed you approach the wall with, the more energy you'll create to leave the wall with speed! Learn the importance of building your tempo into the wall!
  • Fast Rotation: Getting your feet to the wall quickly is paramount for a fast turn! Practice a fast and tight rotation by learning to use your head, core and by driving your heels to the wall.
  • Explode off of the Wall: Leaving the wall streamlined, with a well timed glide, is one of the easiest and most valuable habits you can create for yourself!

UNDERWATER DOLPHIN KICKING: Did you know that most swimmers do not streamline properly or use a powerful dolphin kick? Did you know that this is the fastest part of your race? Get an edge over your competition by using this SECRET WEAPON!

  • Tight Streamline: Learn how to get tight and engage your whole body in your streamline. 
  • Body Position: The simplest way to maintain your speed is a TIGHT STREAMLINE from fingertips to toes! Our world-class athletes will reinforce to you why they NEVER take streamlining for granted. Every fast swimmer must look like a rocket when they push off the wall!
  • Core Driven: The dolphin kick is a full body movement that takes a lot of core strength. Too many swimmers kick from their knees down. Our clinicians will teach you how to unlock the power of a full body undulation to create incredible power in your underwater dolphin kicks
