Sign up now for an action-packed clinic for swimmers ages 7 through 11, and 12 through 17 with two of swimming’s fastest competitors: McGill and Vanderpool-Wallace. This clinic will be divided into two groups so that participants will receive age appropriate instruction. Participants will learn from the experienced clinicians how they can become faster, smarter swimmers.
Below is a snapshot of what participants will learn on June 29th:
TECHNIQUE: Vanderpool-Wallace and McGill will demonstrate butterfly and freestyle. In the water, participants will practice a progression of drills that have enabled the champion clinicians to achieve a high level of success.
IMPROVE BODY LINE: Learn and practice how these athletes achieve proper body alignment enabling a more efficient streamline, breakout and stroke.
CONNECT YOUR CORE: Practice skills that these champion clinicians use to get the upper and lower body working together as a single, connected, powerful vessel.
WHAT ARE THEY THINKING: Get inside the minds of two of the best swimmers in the world. Vanderpool-Wallace and McGill will dissect their stroke and explain what they think about when they swim fast.
WATCH THE CLINICIANS: Observe Vanderpool-Wallace and McGill swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful, efficient and fast butterfly and freestyle.
INCREASE CORE STRENGTH: Practice dryland excerises that these athletes suggest to increase core strength. A stable, strong bodyline is imperative for efficient, fast swimming - and can not be achieved without a strong, connected core.
GET UP AND RACE: Race two of the best swimmers in the world and watch their near-flawless technique - achieved by practicing the same drills they will teach you.
ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask the clinicians questions during a Q&A session. Hear the Olympians talk and gain insight into their training regimen, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics.
