This clinic focusing on the High Performance techniques, drills, and starts of 2012 Olympian Davis Tarwater and World Champion Megan Romano is appropriate for swimmers ages 12 and over; adult/masters swimmers; and younger athletes who compete at a USA Swimming "A" Motivational Time Standard.

FREESTYLE
BACKSTROKE
- ARM TEMPO AND CONSISTENT KICK: Romano will address one of the most fundamental components to fast sprinting. Participants will learn to keep a constant kick throughout the stroke to maintain forward momentum and a high body position in the water.
- BODY ALIGNMENT: Focus on the importance of a steady head position, in line with the neck and spine, to keep an elevated position in the water. Romano will also teach how to properly rotate the shoulders and hips for the most efficient stroke.
- INITATING THE CATCH: Learn drills that focus on a perfect backstroke catch – using a pinky first entry and grabbing the water immediately with no pause during the stroke.
EXPLOSIVE STARTS: A key element to a fast start is learning to use the entire body to generate momentum. Learn how Romano and Tarwater uses their arms to create momentum and explode off the blocks into a perfect streamline and clean entry.
WHAT ARE THEY THINKING: Get inside the minds of two of the best swimmers in the world. Romano and Tarwater will dissect their stroke and explain what they think about when they swim in practices and races.
WATCH THE CLINICIANS: Observe Romano and Tarwater swim at full speed and demonstrate a progression of perfectly executed drills to achieve powerful, efficient and fast freestyle and backstroke.
GET UP AND RACE: Race two of the best swimmers in the world and watch their near-flawless technique - achieved by practicing the same drills they will teach you.
ASK QUESTIONS: Swimmers and parents are invited to ask the clinicians questions during a Q&A session. Hear the Olympians talk and gain insight into their training regimen, diet and nutrition, and recovery tactics.
